1. Plan Ahead
The Dolomites are incredibly popular (and for good reason!), so planning early gives you the best chance at securing permits, the best locations, and your dream team of vendors.
2. Book the Dock at Lago di Braies ASAP
If you’re dreaming of those iconic lake photos, reserve the private dock session at sunrise—it’s the only way to enjoy real privacy. The later sessions tend to get crowded and lose that magical, intimate feel.
3. Rent a Car
The Dolomites are huge and spread out, and public transportation won’t get you to the beautiful hidden spots you’ll want to visit. Renting a car gives you total freedom to explore the region at your own pace.
4. Visit in Summer or Early Fall
The best time to elope in the Dolomites is between June and October. Outside of these months, you’ll likely run into snow closures and unpredictable weather that can limit your options.
